Our staff are the heart and soul of our organization! Here are some interesting facts about the people that work at BC Family Hearing Resource Society.
There are currently 29 of us employed at BCFHRC, as well as an additional 4 professionals employed at our sister program, SESLP.
Four of us have worked here for over 10 years, 5 have been here for over 24 years and 2 have been with us since the early days – over 30 years ago!
Our Early Interventionists have more than 120 YEARS of combined experience working with children who are deaf and hard-of-hearing. Our Early Childhood Educators have a total of over 75 years of experience and our Family Support Parents have 25 years together. Our Program Support team, that greet you when you enter any of our Centres, has a combined 80 years of experience with BCFHRS and that’s how they answer all those questions!
5 of us are D/deaf or hard-of hearing ourselves.
5 of us are parents to children/adult children that are deaf or hard-of-hearing.
2 of us are also trained as Audiologists.
Last fall, we doubled the amount of male staff members when Levi joined our team – bringing the total to 2, along with Darren.
We hail from 6 different countries and 4 provinces within Canada.
