Our core service is the individual work we do with families and their young child, focusing on the interactions that children have with their caregivers, in the environment that they occur. The BCFHRC provides state-of-the-art assessment and intervention services for children who have hearing loss and speech and language challenges. Our children range in age from birth to five years and reflect a diversity of communication needs. Certified speech-language pathologists, teachers of the deaf, and an auditory verbal therapist are available to work together with you to develop an individualized plan of intervention that is best tailored to meet the needs of your child and family. Through regular contact with a caring and competent therapist, families learn how to meet the communication needs of their child, enhancing family relationships on a long-term basis.
