It's not important HOW you communicate, it's simply that you DO!

Volunteers

Program Volunteers

Volunteers enhance our programs and services. We are looking for caring and dedicated individuals who are interested in interacting with young deaf and hard of hearing children and their families, helping program staff prepare therapy materials, or assisting in the classrooms. Volunteers who are unfamiliar with working directly with deaf and hard of hearing children will be encouraged to attend an orientation workshop on hearing loss. Some knowledge of sign language would be useful, but it is not a requirement. Volunteers are eligible to attend sign language classes at our Centre.

Special Event Volunteers

We require volunteers to assist us with planning and hosting special events in support of our services and with our annual Bright Futures Walkathon. One such event that we are currently preparing for is our yearly Mingle and Play event.

All volunteers that are interested in working with us are required to have a criminal record check, which can be done free of charge. To find out more about volunteer opportunities, please inquire at 604-584-2827, or e-mail us at info@bcfamilyhearing.com.
