Early Intervention Team Members
Parents, primary caregivers, audiologists, and early interventionists are all members of the team working together to provide a child with hearing loss early intervention. Early interventionists are members of the team who may or may not have specialized in working with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers with hearing loss and their families. It is important for every team to have a member who does have extensive experience and background education in working with very young children who are deaf and hard of hearing. Some examples of types of early interventionists include: Speech and Language Pathologists, Teachers of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, and Infant Development Program consultants. The team may also include other members: a Support Worker, an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist, a Physiotherapist, and a Public Health Nurse are some examples
Most families find it helpful to have a list of the team members and their contact information for quick reference.
